Notice of Participation in Transaction Account Guarantee Program

Heartland Bank and Trust Company is participating in the FDIC’s Transaction Account Guarantee Program (TAGP). Under that program, through June 30, 2010, all non-interest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC’s general deposit insurance rules.

For the purposes of TAGP, non-interest-bearing transaction accounts include IOLTA accounts and NOW accounts with interest rates no higher than 0.50%; therefore tiered NOW accounts with interest rates of over 0.50% are not covered by the guarantee.

 Sweep accounts: Funds that transfer nightly out of a non-interest-bearing account into an interest-bearing or non-transactional account are not covered by the guarantee.
