FAQs
What is Fraud Center?
Fraud Center is the 24/7 fraud detection and monitoring service provided to our debit card customers absolutely free.
How does Fraud Center Work?
Our skilled fraud experts work to detect suspicious ATM and debit card transactions around the clock using high-tech monitoring. In the instance that suspected fraudulent activity is detected on your account, we will attempt to contact you by email or text 24/7 (free text messages), or phone between the hours of 8am and 9pm CST. Please be sure to let us know all your important contact information so our fraud specialist can contact you.
Your card will disable immediately if fraud is confirmed, and if you aren’t available, your card will be assigned a special “watch” status until we know all is well.
Will the Fraud Center specialist ask for personal information?
Our fraud specialist may ask you to verify your identity, but will never ask for your account number. Otherwise, you will simply be asked to verify any suspicious transactions.
What happens if I am unable to answer the Fraud Center call?
The fraud specialist will leave a message including a call back phone number and the incident number you will need to reference when returning the call. You may also contact your local Heartland Bank branch for assistance during office hours.
