Brian McDowell

Bio

Brian McDowell, vice president, has 37 years of banking experience. Since joining Heartland Bank predecessor Farmer City State Bank in 2005, Brian has been helping customers with commercial and agricultural lending needs. He coordinates mortgage, deposit services and investment services, creating personalized financial solutions to support business growth as a trusted business partner. In 2020, Brian acquired his license as a real estate broker in Illinois and began working with the Heartland Bank Ag Services team specializing in farmland sales and purchases.

Brian earned his Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Business Administration degree from Eastern Illinois University. He completed coursework at the American Bankers Association National Consumer Credit School at Oklahoma State University, the ABA National School of Agri-Finance & Banking at Iowa State University and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. Brian has been active in the community for many years serving as director and treasurer of the Monticello Regional Civic Center Foundation, several leadership roles at the Rotary Club of Monticello, associate director of the Piatt County Soil & Water Conservation District and a member of the Sullivan Chapter of the American Business Club.

Brian resides in Monticello and enjoys spending time with grown sons Andrew and Austin. Hobbies include running, hiking and participating in CrossFit.
