Bio
Chris McDonnell brings 16 years of banking experience and knowledge to his position as commercial lender at Heartland Bank. Chris served as vice president of commercial lending for another financial institution before joining Heartland Bank in 2021. He is located in our Coralville, Iowa, branch.
Chris graduated from the University of Iowa in 1996 and completed the Iowa Bankers Association’s Commercial Lending School in 2010. Actively involved in the community, Chris has served as a Board of Director and Finance Committee member for CommUnity Crisis Services, acted as chairperson for the American Heart Association's "Heart Ball," and been a member of the Iowa City Noon Lions Club board of directors.
Chris currently resides in Iowa City with his wife, Karleen. He has three children, Claire, Matthew and Nicholas. During his free time, Chris likes to go fishing, play tennis, and support sports teams from his alma mater, the Iowa Hawkeyes.
