Bio
Dan Short joined Heartland Bank in April 2021. Before joining Heartland Bank, he worked as a credit analyst at a local bank. It was during the pandemic that Dan directly assisted customers with the PPP loan program, fueling his passion for helping businesses and setting him on the path toward commercial lending.
Dan earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Iowa. He also received honors for finishing in the top 10% of his class at the Iowa Bankers Association Commercial Lending School. Dan is active in the community, volunteering with Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa, and teaching financial literacy to sixth grade students at a local Coralville elementary school.
Dan currently resides in North Liberty with his wife, Mary, and their two daughters. An enthusiastic baseball fan, he enjoys watching any televised sporting event and playing board games with friends and family.
